The City of Ilagan is the capital of the Province of Isabela. As the gateway to the coastal areas of the province, it is a strategic location for investment. Boasting of being the top producer of quality corn, the Department of Agriculture declared it as the Corn Capital of the Philippines. With a mindset that goes beyond agriculture, the city was recently declared the Sports Tourism Hub of the Philippines by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association. It is also the recipient of the 2022 ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award.
